Teaching Curriculum Cornerstone Baptist Academy

Our curriculum is completely Bible based, and is mainly provided by A Beka Book, a long-standing leader in providing high quality Christian education materials and textbooks to Christian Schools and parents who home school. However some materials and texts are provided by two other high quality Christian educational programs:

BIBLE: For K5 - 12th grade, we use Positive Action for Christ (PK3 and K4 use the A Beka program).


READING/LITERATURE: For 2nd - 12th grade, our teaching materials and textbooks are provided by Bob Jones University (PK3 - 1st Grade use the A Beka program).

VOCABULARY: For 7th - 12th grade, our teaching materials and textbooks are provided by Bob Jones University (All other appropriate classes use the A Beka program).


Each of these programs are specifically tailored for a Christian based learning environment, allowing us to provide the highest quality Christian education possible. It has been proven that the educational experience using this curriculum in adedicated Christian academy allows students who apply themselves to test higher on educational testing programs, such as the Iowa Test of Basic Skills, which our academy uses.

GRADING SCALE: Cornerstone Baptist Academy uses the following grading scale:

LIBRARY: Our Academy has a general library consisting of over 5,500 volumes, with more being added almost every day. These include education and research materials and periodicals, as well as well-balanced leisure reading materials that students can check out. In addition, every elementary classroom has a small library that teachers and students use for a variety of purposes.
